Our first trip of the year!
Treatment plant/ Bush walk
On Monday we went to the treatment plant. It was a long ride there but we survied it.When we got off the bus we went inside to watch a video from America about water and how it not to waste it. I guy talked to us about the treatment plant and how it works. After that we went to see the dirt/waste fall into skippy bins.
Next we got on the bus and went to see the Weir. Then we went across the swing bridge. On the other side, Ranger Steve took us for a bush walk and we talked about trees and plants.
Ripper Rugby
On Tuesday, some of us went to Karori to take part in a Rippa Rugby Tournament. Our Year 5 & 6 Reps won two games and lost three. Fortunately we did well and came third (we think).
All is going well in Term 1!

The trip to the water treatment plant was really interesting.The amount of water people use doing dishes ,having showers etc is amazing. The sludge waste was disgusting!

It's Sam it was a hard game of rippa rugby on tuesday but it's good that we won 2 games instead of none. Good game team we didn't do it for the finals we did it for fun.

The trip was fun and I really liked the swing bridge(especially when Jessica's dad shook it!) It sounds like the rippa rugby team did really well.
When we went to the water treatment plant it was really fun. We got to see sludge coming out of the shoots.

hi rm 2 I didn't get to go to the water treatment plant but I think it really would have been fun
It was lots of fun going to rippa rugby I think we worked really well as a team. The trip to the water treatment plant was really interesting. The sludge we saw was really disgusting. I really liked going into the rainforest. My favourite parts of the trip to the water treatment plant were looking at the weir and going over the swing bridge. Overall both trips were lots of fun.

The water treatment plant was fun,the waste was really cool.I loved the bush walk when we saw the big tree I felt so small.It looked like the ripper rugby was fun wining 2. Good gob!!!!!
hi room 2 it's olive. our trip was fun. it's a shame we didn't get a tour but we still learn't lot's. i like the idea 'games on wedensday afternoons' we had lot's of fun today. ok bye now

Hi room 2 it's Amira & Charquera here we loved the trip to the water treatment plant it was a shame we didn't get to see all the stuff that we were ment to see but the funny part was amira got sluge (poo) stuff on her legs
and wiped it all over me (charquera)and that was a pretty cool field trip

Hey rm 2 it was great going to the water treatment plant I thought the bush walk was cool the swing bridge was amazing my mum said that it was scary because she had to go first before everyone.

I am really enjoying being here at Thorndon. I really liked the water treatment plant, but it is a shame that we didn't get a tour. Rippa rugby was really fun.

Looks like the class really enjoyed the water treatment plant trip as well as the rippa rugby trip. Great work kayleigh looks forward to more school trips. And so do i so i can hear all about them when she gets home.

The trip to the water treatment plant was really fun,the sludge waste was soooo cool!Pity we didn't see all that we could of.The rippa rugby team looks like they've done really well.
